In March this year, China Government proposed the development of Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Big Bay Area. Big Bay Area is the fourth largest bay in the world and it is formed by 2 special administrative regions and 9 cities in China. This development plan is one of the projects implemented by the Central Government to deepen the co-operation between Mainland, Hong Kong and Macau. It is believed that the development of Big Bay Area will provide a lot of business opportunities to Hong Kong enterprises.
Hong Kong is the International Financial Center and a World-class logistic hub, enterprises in Hong Kong can help Mainland enterprises to go global and benefit from the “Belt and Road Initiative”. In terms of legal services, how can Hong Kong lawyers benefit from this development? Mr. Lam stated that with strict regulation in Hong Kong legal services, Mainland enterprises were more confident to work with lawyers from Hong Kong, Big Bay Area will be the new market for Hong Kong lawyers. Therefore, we will also actively participate in the Big Bay Area Development project and provide professional legal services to Mainland enterprises.
