On 4th May, our firm was invited to join the cocktail reception of the association between Grandall & Ambrose Lam & Co. The cocktail reception was held at Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong to celebrate the successful joint venture. Our Managing Partner Mr. Ambrose Lam, Mr. Lu Hong bing, the Senior Partner of Grandall Law Firm, along with our honourable guests: Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, former Hong Kong Chief Executive Leung Chun Ying, Deputy Director of Central People’s Government Liaison Office Chen Dong, Director of the Hong Kong Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau Nie Dequan, Director of the Treaty Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong Zhou Lulu and other guests, witnessed the signature of the joint venture agreement.
Mr. Lam gave his speech on stage; he mentioned that under the Basic Law, Hong Kong has a unique common law system, which gives the advantage no Hong Kong lawyers. Moreover, he is hopeful for a successful prospect which the joint venture will bring about more opportunities for lawyers in Hong Kong and mainland China. Mr. Lu Hong Bing expressed his sincere gratitude to the support from the Liaison Office, China Ministry of Justice, Hong Kong Law Society and Hong Kong Bar Society. With their immense support, we found our common goal and successfully established our joint venture.
Besides, our guest Mr. Leung Chun Ying delivered a speech in hoping that the association between Grandall & Ambrose Lam &
Co can combine the advantages of Mainland China and Hong Kong, so as to complement and support Country to pursuit the rule of law, developing further economic co-operation with foreign countries.
